My first serious Inkscape drawing
My first serious Inkscape drawing
This is my first serious drawing in Inkscape, or any graphic design program, ever. I've spent a couple weeks doodling around, but this is my first serious drawing. I'd appreciate any constructive criticism you guys could give me on it.

Re: My first serious Inkscape drawing
I like the simplicity of it. There are a few things that don't quite seem to work for me, especially around the eyes.
The eye on the right seems to be in front of that piece of hair, which of course isn't physically possible. So you just need to add some pink color to the whole piece of hair, and make it cover both the eyebrow and the eye. Either that, or just make the hair shorter, so it doesn't reach the eye. Similar thing for the left eye (her right eye). Both the eye and the eyebrow need to be behind the hair (hidden by the hair). See the manual regarding Z-Order

The nose seems to be a little too simple.....although I couldn't offer any suggestions for that. Or maybe it just needs to be moved a little more to the left (her right). The shadow of the nose is right in the center, so I think it should be a little to the side (left).
For the hair on the back of her head, normally we wouldn't be able to see the end of the hair, because it would be behind the shoulders. So maybe if you could draw something to represent the top of the shoulders. And it would be in front of the back hair but behind the front hair. (z-order again)
Might be cute to have some little sparkley earrings.

Thanks for the advice! I also gave her a body and added a background.

Nice!
Still have the odd hair bit on the right eye. And still the hair in back of the head issue. In real people, you would never see how the hair looks in back from the front. But maybe that's a tradition in this style of artwork - I'm not super familiar with it.
But I still like it for the simplicity
