How do I remove a Place from the Bookmarks sidebar

Postby cleversomeday » Wed Mar 31, 2010 1:08 am

I put a bookmark to the templates folder in the sidebar of my save as dialog in Inkscape .47 for Mac. Unfortunately I later discovered that it was the wrong templates folder. However when I click on it, the remove button is grayed out and if I try anyway it says it can not be removed. I also can not drag it to the bottom of the list to simply hide it from view. New folders I place in the sidebar can be removed, even with the same name. I can not figure out which file controls the Places sidebar. Anybody know?

As far as I know the 'templates' folder entry right below the 'File System' entry in the 'Save as…' dialog of Inkscape 0.47 is hard coded and points to the user templates folder in '~/.config/inkscape/templates'.

Any regular bookmarks added by the user can be removed (with the button 'Remove' or the context menu entry 'Remove') and are stored in the file '~/.gtk-bookmarks'.

That makes sense. I could have sworn I put it there, but obviously not. Maybe I'll switch back to that templates folder after all. Thanks so much!
