Hey guys. I scanned in a banner with words on it that I drew and then traced the bitmap. There was white space on the banner that didn't have any fill to it, and I wanted to put the banner in front of something, so I just used the fill bounded areas tool to fill it with white. I then selected the white fill (because it was made as a separate object) and grouped it with the rest of the banner and words so that I could move it freely.
For some reason though, you can still see through the white fill on the banner. The opacity is definitely at 100% (I've checked repeatedly). Why is this and how do I make it a solid white?
I'll attach a picture for reference. It's faint, but as you can see, there is definitely red from the background showing through the white fill.
Thanks in advance!

Re: Why can you see through my fill?
Hello,
I've read quick your explanation, but I guess that if not the opacity it could be the transparency of your filled shape (It's the same but not
).
Could you share your original SVG?. From there it could be easy to say where the transparency is affecting your design. Meanwhile, just select all your objects (Ctrl + A), go to the left-bottom location and change the opacity of all of them to 100%

If you have problems:
1.- Post a sample (or samples) of your file please.

Re: Why can you see through my fill?
I think it might be the group behavior that's confusing the issue. I don't know if this is a bug or not, but it drives me nuts! No matter what the opacity of the objects in the group, the group always shows 100% opacity (unless you adjust the opacity after the grouping step). In past versions, the opacity of a group would reflect the opacity of the objects in the group. So if the group showed 100% opacity, you would know that all the objects were also 100%. If the group showed 50% opacity, you would know that some or all of the objects have less than 100% opacity.
Of course, there could still be some other explanation, and sharing your SVG file will allow us to find it. hulf has good point about opacity vs alpha. But that's the first thing that came to mind, when I read you message.
