Sunset Moon

Postby nils » Sat Sep 11, 2010 9:15 pm

After a long break I just had an urge to create another of my kitschy five minute Inkscape drawings. :p

Ah nils, and I have missed them. You know I love your style, and this one is no less spectacular than your others. The moon is amazing! I can't believe you didn't spend hours on it?

Anyway, nice work :D

Thanks - though I gotta admit, I cheated on the moon ;-) It's a bitmap with an Inkscape glow manually added.

But, hmm! Of course this means I have to challenge myself next and create a convincing moon.

I find that many students believe that Moon always rises at sunset and sets at sunrise. This activity is designed to build a a understanding of the relative positions of Earth, Sun, and Moon associated with the various phases of Moon as seen from Earth. NOTE: A lunar month is about 29.5 days, one revolution around Earth takes 27.3 days.

You got some really dumb students then, or rather some that never do go outside eh? :p But anyway, let's not get derailed.
