CAN´T SAVE A COPY AS PDF

Postby 3rayas » Thu Jun 30, 2011 5:51 pm

Hello friends ;)

Let use this message as a presentation too.

I have a problem with this file, I think it's no so big to hang inkscape. I'd tried with stable and a couple of night builds, but I always get the same result: It hangs inkscape.
I think the problem is in "edificios" layer, I can export to pdf whatever other layer, but this one.
Can you help me?

Thanks in advance ;)

Welcome to InkscapeForum!

Hhhm, I'm having the exact same problem.... I found a path (using Tab key to select objects one by one, that is absolutely huge -- 282 meters square!! Ok, there are several really huge objects in there, some even bigger than that. I've deleted some of them without apparently affecting the image. And I suspect that if you go through and delete them all, you will be able to export successfully.

Let us know what happens :D

PS -- You will know when you have found one, because you won't see any selection indicators (dotted lines and arrows). Just Tab, Tab, Tab, and you will see each object highlighted one by one. When you Tab and don't see any selection indicators, look at the tool control bar, and you can see the size of the object. I think the selection indicators don't show because there is probably a limite to how big of an object Inkscape can display. I tried using Zoom to fit window, and the zoom factor went down to 1.0%, but the page went black, which I think indicates some kind of serious error. But anyway, delete all the huge things, and I think the export should work as expected.
