right i downed loaded a i mage and put in inkescape a plain image but i can get color up in corner but can colour in any help with this

Your description makes me think you are using the bucket fill tool on a raster image.
If so, you are far away of producing good material for vinyl cutting (?).
Have a look at some of the tutorials at inkscape community
to see inkscape work in action, before wasting your time on reinventing the wheel.
