PNG to Object

Postby JumpingMammoth » Sat Feb 22, 2014 12:38 am

Hey,

I have an image from the internet and I want it to chnage to an object. How can I do that?

Thanks!

Hi.

Any raster image imported is already an object.

To use it within a path's boundary, you can convert it to a pattern or
set a clipping to it.

Good luck!

It sounds to me like you need to trace your object, either by hand or using Inkscape's "Trace Bitmap" function (in the Path menu). I've covered both approaches in my tutorials for Free Circle Magazine, download links can be found in this thread. Parts 16-18 cover manual tracing, while 19-21 cover the Trace Bitmap dialog.
