I'm trying to make a tutorial with Inkscape, which I intend to convert to PDF. In the past, I have successfully converted SVG files with simple paths to PDF with no loss or problems. But before I waste hours writing the tutorial, only to find out later that there's a problem with conversion, I want be sure it will or should work.
So should I be able to convert an SVG file containing text, inclucing some links, to PDF using Inkscape to do the conversion (File menu > Save As) without any significant loss?
It will have only a few simple images composed of only paths, so I know that part will work. In my experiments so far, while the text converts with no loss, I seem to loose the links when I convert to PDF. Is this how it's supposed to be, or is there a way to do it without losing the links?
I recently learned that converting the SVG to PNG results in the loss of the links, as well. So I'm wondering what other options I have? MS Word? I'll be sharing this tutorial in a couple of forums, one of which I can upload attachments. I'm pretty sure that most forums should accept the DOC file format as an upload, right? Otherwise, I guess I'd have to find another host.
Or maybe GIMP would be my best choice for this chore? I guess I don't really know if the GIMP text tool offers the creation of links, although it will be simple enough to look up. I'm just thinking outloud here

What do you think would be my best option for making a tutorial? And as always, Thanks for your help!
