Selecting Nodes of two different paths

Postby Mr. R » Fri Aug 20, 2010 5:44 am

Hi,

How do I select the nodes of two different paths by using the node select tool? :tool_node:
I can select nodes on one path with it, but I want to connect two nodes of two different paths. But I have to be able to select nodes on the other path first.

First you need to select both paths and then Path menu > Combine. This creates 2 subpaths of one single path. Now you can select them both and join them.

Btw, please see the info in my signature for some excellent instructional material. For complete novices, I recommend the tutorials found in the Help menu. After working through those you will have a basis for learning with the other guide and manual.

Upcoming Inkscape 0.48 will have an enhanced node tool with Multi-path editing (i.e. it will no longer be necessary to combine separate paths into one with several sub-paths).

Excellent news. And thank you for helping brynn.
