Inkscape Mac

Postby Stephen0523 » Sat Oct 26, 2013 3:53 am

Hi all. I am new here and have just installed Inkscape on my MacPro running OSX 10.7.5

I get this when I try to open the file:

"You need to install the UniConvertor software.
For GNU/Linux: install the package python-uniconvertor.
For Windows: download it from (URL)
and install into your Inkscape's Python location"

Thanks in advance.

IMvHO not really recommended (UniConvertor 1.1.5 was never fully ported to OS X - which is also one of the reasons it was not included in the currently available Inkscape package for OS X (0.48.2)).

The instructions on the superuser page also miss any hints/details about how to make Inkscape.app use the newly installed UniConvertor python module… (it won't work out-of-the-box with the current Inkscape package for OS X).

Just curious - which file type do you need to edit? Possibly there are other known workarounds to convert it into a format supported by Inkscape without the help of / need for UniConvertor…
