Hello does anyone know how I can export a vector file?
When I export a Inkscape document to .png or eps and I open it in Adobe Fireworks I get a bit map and no paths.
Do anyone know how I can export a Inkscape doc to fireworks?
how I can export a Inkscape doc to fireworks?
Re: how I can export a Inkscape doc to fireworks?

Welcome to InkscapeForum!
PNG is a raster (bitmap) format, so therefore by definition, it cannot contain paths. Currently I'm quite confused by the EPS format. It's apparently a vector format, but in many questions posted here, it appears to somehow contain rasterish elements. So I can't speak to the EPS format.
I'm not familiar with Fireworks, although a search tells me that it's an Adobe product. But I don't know if it's a vector app or not. If it's not made to handle vector formats, that might explain the problem with EPS.
How can you export Inkscape docs to Fireworks? First find out which formats Fireworks accepts. Once you know that, you'll know how to save or export the Inkscape work. Please note that the proper way to get a PNG from Inkscape is to use File menu > Export Bitmap, and not Save As Cairo png, if you need to preserve transparency.

Thank you for the answer,FireWorks can open *.eps *.ia and it can handle vector files.
But I understand that there are some problems with the export of EPS format, the transparent PNG will do fine at the moment.

just to confuse things a little...fireworks has both vector and bitmap tools. it can save both the vectors and bitmap info into a specially extended png format that fireworks understands, and thus can read beak original vector info. fireworks also exports to usual bitmap only png format.
EPS format is a encapsulated postscript format that handles both vector and raster. afaik the main difference between straight postscript and encapsulated postscript is ability to have bitmap (portions). you should somehow know what's what in what your tool of choice produces, vector or raster or mixture of both.
The Adbobe fireworks file formats supported page http://helpx.adobe.com/fireworks/kb/sup ... works.html doesn't look promising for importing vector graphics...it looks like on purpose it works best to import Adbobe's own .ai format files. Damned file format monopolies.
