making a circle

Postby globalgal » Sun Jul 18, 2010 11:04 am

Earlier today I was playing with making a circle and was able to click on the left toolbar circle to make a circle. For some reason now when I try to do it the circle does not show up. What I'm getting is 2 nodes and a small colored circle in a selected box. Can't figure out why? Did I somehow change the settings by mistake or am I clicking the wrong icon?

I've tried to play around for a couple of hours now and can't seem to be able to get it to work. Well, I appreciate your help.

Thanks,
Deb :(

Did you change the opacity of the object? If it's transparent you'll only see the circle handles (square for size and circle handles for making arcs). You can check the opacity in the Fill and Stroke dialogue, the Opacity slider and the A box separate for fill and stroke.

Or if you played with making arcs and "pie wedges", you could have left it set on a very tiny arc. If for example you last drew a one quarter pie wedge (sorry, I can't think of the proper word for this) with the circle tool, that's what will be drawn the next time you use it. To fix this, click the last icon on the right on the tool control bar.

:) Thanks, I'm going to check both and hopefully I can fix it!
