Trace Bitmap: white background changing colour

Postby yezza » Thu May 20, 2010 9:13 pm

Hi - I am trying to efficiently convert simple tif images to a vector (eps) to forward on for print. The problem I'm having is that the white background is getting washed out with the objects colour:

The main window shows my original image, and the trace bitmap preview shows the background wash. When I apply the trace it displays exactly like the preview. I have some similar images where this hasn't happened, all generated from the same software in the same fashion. I've tried various settings in the tracce bitmap dialogue box, but nothing seems to help.

I would greatly appreciate if anyone could shed any light on this

Thanks,
yezza

There's an option in the 'Trace Bitmap' dialog to '[ ] Remove background'. Did you test if this works with your example?

Else - could you attach one of each of the bitmap images that either show or don't show this effect (unexpected coloring of the scan background)?
