Would love to see Inkscape as a Google Drive app

Postby inksquid » Fri Jul 13, 2012 4:52 pm

Hello,
I'm a huge Inkscape fan and user. I would to see Inkscape as an app that works with cloud-based Google Drive (https://chrome.google.com/webstore/cate ... drive_apps).

I suppose for this to happen, 2 things need to happen:
1. There must be an online version of Inkscape
2. There must be integration between the online Inkscape app and Google Drive.

I'm guessing that Step 1 must be the more difficult step of the two.

I know that we've had messages here from people who were making online editors with certain Inkscape features, although I have no idea where they are or which features.

Just install the google drive desktop app and then save to the drive folder, works fine here.

On installing the Google Drive desktop app

Thanks, Simarillus, for your reply. Sadly, the GDrive desktop app is not available on Linux. Also, your proposed solution means that a person would still need access to a hard drive.

With Google Docs, I can create new documents/spreadsheets/presentations all on the cloud, from start to finish. With your proposed solution, I would need:
-- a computer running Windows
-- a computer that lets me install GDrive desktop app
-- a computer that lets me install Inkscape
-- to install GDrive desktop app
-- to install Inkscape
