[solved] How to create old map border effect

Hi, any tips on how to create boders that are normally found on old maps

I just realized I could use the Outset tool.

However I appreciate any other tips, how to get the grainy effect, etc.

The grainy effect of the coloured area? This would have to be done with a pattern fill. Refer to the Inkscape Guide.
