Hello. I am using Inkscape 0.92.2 and created a logo with layers. There are a few sections that are outlined and I wanted to fill them in with a different color and tweak those shapes a bit. I am not proficient enough with nodes to manipulated the base shape so I "filled in" the sections to make them "solid" with additional shapes (ie. rectangle - custom shape - nodes etc). I guess I created an "overlay" or additional layer - I am not sure. I know I did not use "fill and stroke" in those specific sections.

It is essentially a rectangle with an angled side and a narrow rectangle with a rounded tip.

When saving as a SVG there seems to be no problems - exactly how I want it. However when I save as PDF those filled in sections are not transferring over to the pdf and it ONLY shows the under-layer or bottom outline and NOT the filled in color shape(s) (rectangle and custom shape) that I created. Eventually I ultimately need to convert this to an ai file - which I do not have access to either.

Please assist me. Be happy to send you the file directly to see what you can do as long as you can send it directly back to me without posting it on the web. I will not be posting the file directly on the site.

Before you send the file, maybe try something like this:



You might also save a copy as pdf and change the extension to .ai. That should work. I can convert the file using Ai later today if you want to send it.
