Deleting Inner Nodes From Path

Postby bogitm » Sat Dec 08, 2018 3:31 pm

Hi,
I am trying to figure out how to remove all the inner nodes from a path with many inner nodes. I know that I can use the "Edit Path By Nodes" function and individually select the nodes, but was hoping there was a more direct way to do it all at once.

In the attached example, I would like to remove all the nodes that represent the white areas.

Thanks for any help.

Hi.

With breaking apart (Ctrl+Shift+K) you can separate the "subpaths" to be separate objects.
Then deselect the outer outline(s) and delete the rest (del).

In letters like "O" you need to keep the inner edge as well and after the breaking apart you will see the whole area displayed with the same fill attribute -inherited from the path you edited. Thus it is advised to add a 50% opacity or better yet switching to outlines only rendering mode (Ctrl+5 on the numpad twice) for the deselecting. Once you have both the inner and outer edges, select them all and combine them back to a compound path (Ctrl+K).
