transparent rectangle inside another one

Postby dbpr » Mon Aug 10, 2009 7:31 pm

Hello,

I am completely new to inkscape as to graphics design as well. So, sorry, for, maybe, silly question.

I need to create transparent rectangular area inside filled rectangle. Please, help me with that.

All I do now is:
1. Create bigger rectangle and fill it
2. Create smaller rectangle inside. When I make it fill transparent it shows color of bigger rectangle. But I need this area to be completely transparent.

Best regards,
dbpr

Create two rectangles, the smaller on top of the larger. Select both. Do Path->Difference.
