I have two bezier curves in Inkscape. I'd like to join the end of one curve to the beginning of the next. Can this be done? That is, join two nodes, and the have the two corresponding control points bound to one another?

Yep.

Select both curves with
Path-Combine
With the select the two points you want to join, and use the "Join Selected Endnodes" button from the toolbar.

I was having no luck in selecting the endpoints of the two Bezier curves. Even with the selector tool, and windowing, both curves show up in separate "boxes", and when one end point is selected and highlighted, the highlighting drops when the start of the other curve is clicked with the F2 Node tool. I have tried making a group out of the two curves, which gives a single extents "box". Still it is not possible to lock the selection of one curve end-point, and then high-light the other. Please suggest the work-around. Thanks.

You've missed a step in the previous post, you have to Combine paths into one object using the Path > Combine option. Then you'll be able to select both end nodes at the same time

I certainly was missing this important step. Funny thing is that I have been using Inkscape ( very infrequently ) since March 2007, and I never discovered the Combine Paths operation. Only group and ungroup.
