I went to downloaded Inkscape 0.47 from Inkscape.org. I clicked the Windows installer link which sent me to source forge http://sourceforge.net/projects/inkscap ... e/download
McAfee gave me this alert
Is it a false alarm or has adware slipped into Inkscape?
Download 0.47 Tonight McAfee Alerted on it.

Well I downloaded it anyway and McAfee claims it took a virus out of it. A-square and malwarebytes didn't find anything in it.

Weird! I was hoping someone else would answer this, because I would only be guessing. I'm wondering if your McAfee setting might be too high? I'm not familiar with that product though, so maybe there are no level settings?
Did you look at the details of what it reported removing? I would be curious what that was.
I haven't seen any reports of contaminated downloads. But if you can find the details of what was removed, I think I would report to the mailing list or maybe Launchpad.
I know on the online version of Site Advisor there's a way to communicate with them, and have erroneous or false reporting fixed. Meanwhile, you or someone who knows that there's no malware can post a comment...or maybe it's called a review.
Hey, I'm gonna go and try the online SA, then I'll edit in my results. BRB
EDIT
Ok, here's the results from the SourceForge downloads, although it looks like their last evaluation was for version 0.45. And that looks OK. I'm thinking it's not possible to double-check the 0.47 or dev version using the online SA, unless it comes from a unique website that SA has evaluated recently
Since SA has not evaluated current versions, it's not going to be possible to post a comment/review. But if you can get the details of what was found and removed, I still think it would be a good idea to report to mailing list.
