Signblazer Help!!!
Signblazer Help!!!
I'm trying to use inkscape to transfer to cut into signblazer. Unless there is a way for me to cut directly to my uscutter from inkscape. Also when importing an image to inkscape it asks embed or link?? which do I pick? also when I try to save as eps file. I open signblazer and I pick import eps. But the eps is all black with no image in it. When I try to import the picture doesn't show up unless I choose "use full postscript interpeter" can someone please help me. I'm just trying to cut out images. If i try to vectorize in signblazer it always comes out all crappy. thanks in advance.
Re: Signblazer Help!!!
Howdy,
I've never heard of signblazer so don't know exactly what you're referring to here, but here are some answers.
- Embedding or Linking a bitmap?
Well,.. you can either LINK the file to your SVG document, which means it is NOT included in the file, but the data is left were it is and all you do is create a link to it, telling Inkscape where the image data can be found OR EMBED, which means you copy the bitmap data into the document. If you look at the file size after either embedding or linking, you'll get the point of why to do either. If you link the file, you cannot easily move it to another computer as the link would probably be broken and Inkscape on that machine can't find the data. That can be solved fairly easily, but considering you didn't understand linking or embedding yet, I'll leave it for now.
Try saving your Inkscape file as PDF and then import that into signblazer. Chances are that it will be better able to handle that. EPS (Encapsulated PostScript) is a print file that you should send to a PostScript printer. I have the idea that you signblazer just reads the low resolution bitmap that comes with the EPS and cannot open the file. And just a thought.. have you ever tried to just copy and paste from Inkscape into signblazer? That often gives a good result for imports into other applications.
