I was watching another Illustrator tutorial and wanted to try if Inkscape can do the same warp effect AI has.
It can, but i experienced something that irritated me.
So i used the 'Envelope Deformation' LPE and warped the left side first.
Tried to be clever, copied the LPE path and pasted it to the right side, so both side would be equally warped without the use of guides or helper objects, but then this happened.....
Is this expected behaviour ? If so, why ?
If not, is it a bug ?

Re: Envelope Deformation LPE situation
Seems the new bend path is inserted at the wrong position - not where the original right bend path was, but to the left of the object... It always gets pasted to the left page border, it seems.
Not sure if it is possible to align an arbitrary path exactly to the same location as another path easily (for all Inkscape knows, the pasted path could be a circle, or a star, or 20 times larger. Maybe align their centers?... Still not good...
If you create guides before you start, you can just select the whole bend path and move it to the correct location using snapping, as a workaround.
Can't tell you if this can be considered a bug or not.
Edit: Add image.

Re: Envelope Deformation LPE situation
Thanks Moini !
I guess there is a reason why all directions are seperate paths in the LPE.
Using guides is no problem,it just seemed nice to utilize the copy/paste path option.
