Ok - I'm stumped! After I save a document, every time I close it, Inkscape goes closes completely and I have to reopen it. I thought that's what "Quit" was suppossed to do, while "Close" would remove the current doc so I could open a new one in the same session with all of my iconized stuff still available. I'm redoing a bunch of patterns so the new docs I open are jpg's that I rework, then save them as Inkscape SVG files. What can I do so I don't have to constantly start all over?

It's been requested already to keep Inkscape open when you close the last document. For now you have to create a new document before closing the last one.
