Copy and Paste Formulas from Microsoft Word

Postby Melpro » Fri Apr 03, 2015 5:53 pm

First at all Hello to this forum. This is my first post here :)

I need to extract a mathematic formula out of Microsoft Word into an eps and a png file. I tried to copy the formular (made with the Microsoft Formuala Editor 3.0) and paste it into Inkscape. And - it worked properly. I was able to export the file in an eps file and export the bitmap as a png file. All was perfect.

Then I wanted to show this to a collegue. But: Inkscape was not able to paste the formular. The canvas was left empty.

I took a look to my instylled Inkscape and it is - uups - version 0.48.5 r10040. The new installed Inkscape on the laptop is 0.91 r13725. Both machines are running on Windows, Win 7 Pro 64 bit on my PC, Win 8.1 64 bit on the Laptop.

I installed ghostscript on the laptop, but it still did not work.

Do you have any idea, how to get it done?

A really big THANK YOU!

Greetings from Bornheim, Germany

Peter

PS: Attached you can find a word file with a formular

PPS: As I tested the file, I saw, that the equal ("=") in front of the formuar is not pasted in Inkscape??!?!!

Howdy,
It seems to work with LIbreOffice when the formula is copied from the formula editor, maybe the same in Word?

Have a nice day.

I'm using Inkscape 0.92.2 (5c3e80d, 2017-08-06), 64 bit win8.1

The Inkscape manual has lots of helpful info! http://tavmjong.free.fr/INKSCAPE/MANUAL/html/

Hello tylerdurden,

this is a good hint. We will test this way.

Thank you!
