Cutting a Traced Path

Postby SidewinderX » Thu Nov 18, 2010 1:04 pm

Hi all --

I'm a relatively new Inkscape user, and I have what I think is an easy question that I just can't figure out. I used inkscape to trace an image that I'd like to modify and I'd like to split up the path that it made at certain points.

I've linked an image below of what I'm trying to do... basically I'd like to "cap off" the path at the two paths shown and get rid of what's currently in the middle. I've tried the "break path", but that's not doing the trick.

Any ideas?

Thanks!

Welcome to the forum!

You're looking for "Delete segments between two non-endpoint nodes" button on node tool control bar.

Ok, I'll look at that.

And actually, after submitting the post (but before it was accepted), I started playing around with the eraser tool, which got the job done as well. (Albeit probably not as cleanly).

Thanks!
