Cutting a shape in half

Postby jahina » Thu Nov 10, 2011 1:30 am

Hi

I want to be able to draw a shape, such as a tree leave and then cut it in half and be able to use both halves seperately, if you see what I mean. i.e. I don't want one half to disappear. How do I do that?

Thanks
Jahina

1) Draw your leaf
2) Draw another object over half of it (e.g. a rectangle that completely covers half of it), and ensure that it's on top
3) Select both objects then use Path=>Division
