Help Placing an Image on Top of Another

I'm new to Inkscape and the forum. I need help. I want to place one image on top of another. One is an image of a squirrel which I deleted the background (cutout), the other is the background photo that I imported to place the squirrel on top of it. When I try to place the squirrel on top of the other image, it goes underneath the background. How can I place it on top?

Welcome aboard!
Press the End/Home/Page Up/Page Down keys to move to the bottom/top/up/down the objects when they are selected.
