Help with my Stika-sx 12
My name is Mike. I am trying to make the complete switch to Linux (Mint) from Windows. I am hoping to use my Roland Stika sx-12. Cant quite figure out how to get Inkscape to recognize my cutter. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks Mike.

Howdy Mike,
It's not Inkscape that needs to recognize your cutter, it's Linux that needs to have a driver for it. Once you have a driver installed on Linux for your cutter, you should be able to just send any print/cutting job to it.
I would suggest trying installing a generic HPGL printer driver on your Linux machine and see if that does the trick. Inkscape can create HPGL file, which you could then just dump to the printer spool of your Linux machine, or possibly just directly through the normal print menu of Inkscape.
Alternatively you may be able to use WINE to just install the windows drivers or Rolnad software onto the Linux box.
As there is a MAC version of the software, it can't be too difficult as MAC's use a version of BSD Unix.
