Done exclusively with vectors and by hand entirely (no tracing involved).

What can you say about this image - http://audi.infocar.com.ua/cpg_mir/view ... =910&gal=1 ? No tracing, by hand... And what car is it, porsche or audi? :/

flm, Of course. I drew it in this picture (but it was smaller). You can compare the original photo and my work. I can send you the my SVG source ;)

It's an Audi with the wheels of Porsche =)

1). I don't believe you drew this SVG.
2). It's tracing anyway.
3). You can upload your SVG "source" if you want.

There's no
Reason not to give someone the benefit
Of the doubt.
Let's assume that if someone says they made the SVG, and shows the
Line work, too, that it really is theirs....

I took the statement, "No tracing involved," to mean no automatic tracing
engines were used... Obviously the photograph was used as a template,
and someone did a nice job
tracing over it. Incidentally, I don't know
any tracing programs that use gradient fills,
though that would be a very nice feature.
Your mind is what you think it is.

If you download and compare both pictures you will see they are not the same, but similar.
@ Flm: there's nothing wrong with tracing, as long you do it with the pen tool.
I'm just someone who likes to create.

Indeed, there is nothing wrong with tracing in general. But if you do tracing of some image, you should say that it's tracing and put link to original image.
Anyway, I don't believe it's hand tracing.
Waiting for source SVG to look into...

@ flm: OMG ... I never imagined that you would't believe it's drawn by hand, without a trace. :( I specifically uploaded the image showing the vectors in the Outline mode. No trace of this can't be achieved. I tried to do a trace - that's what happened. This is the best result. :? This is not such a complicated object for drawing by hand. What do you say that? ;)

Thats clearly not an auto trace, its way too clean. I dont see the need to post a link to an original photo, your gonna see a picture of a TT with porsche wheels, what does that add to the vector?
I think part of the issue here is some people use the word trace to mean click the trace bitmap dialog and your done, some mean manually creating an image over a reference, and people can be ambiguous over what they mean.
Either way, I'd appreciate it if you can mind the tone of your posts a bit please flm, you can ask him to clarify what he means by that without it coming over like an accusation, stating that you dont believe he drew it or that its hand tracing is just rude.

Well, it is possible to clean some things up after auto trace, don't you think?

It adds information and helps one to understand, what kind of "artist" you are. I'm against all copyright bull****, but i think, if you rip off some copyrighted picture, remove copyrights, trace over it and claim it was "all drawn by hand without tracing" - it's a bad thing...

Simarilius wrote:I think part of the issue here is some people use the word trace to mean click the trace bitmap dialog and your done, some mean manually creating an image over a reference, and people can be ambiguous over what they mean.

That's why it is good to post as much information about your "art", as possible.

I think it will be my last post on this topic anyway.
