Exporting picture

Postby Insomniac » Mon Mar 01, 2010 10:41 am

Hi, I was just wondering... when I export a inkscape picture as png is there a way to make it so that the page is white? As in shapes with no fill are white and things that dont have fill are also white? IE: What I see is what I will get?

Yes!
Go to Document Properties > Page tab > Background, click the bar that's half checkerboard and half white (the checkerboard means it's transparent). Move the A slider all the way to the other side of wherever it is (I forget which way is which without looking it up). When you close the color choosing dialog, you should see that the bar is solid white. And don't forget to Save....well, actually I don't think you would have to save before exporting, although it's probably a good idea ;)

I am creating a logo, 32px x 32px. When the document is highly zoomed (in order to work in such a small area) the bezier curve looks sharp and crisp. When zoom is set to 1:1, the curve looks faded and fuzzy. Likewise when it is exported to PNG.

Is there a technique that will create a 32 x 32 PNG image with clean, sharp lines?

Thank you,

Bill B

Also set stroke widths to whole numbers and make use of the Pixelsnap extension to get crisp edges.
just hand over the chocolate and nobody gets hurt
