Hello everyone,
sorry if this has been asked before, I searched in the forum and could not find an answer.
I am trying to export an eps file from inkspace to latex. However the text is always missing in the eps file.
I tried converting the text into a path but it did not work.. I would be so thankful if someone knows how to deal with this... I need to put in so many eps images with text...
Thank you very much, any help is very much appreciated
Jeniffer

Hello Lazur,
thanks for your reply.
Basically I just created an image in inkscape and I used also the text function in inkscape to label some parts of the image.
Then I tried to create an eps file, because that is the best format to use to import to latex. However the eps file created from inkscape lacks the text parts and contains all the other parts.
So if I would draw a box with a text inside in inkscape, the eps file would only show the box...

Hello Jeniffer,
if you convert a text object to path in inkscape (Shift+Ctrl+C),
press Shift+Ctrl+G to ungroup characters,
and Ctrl+K to combine them to one compound path.
That way the text should appear in eps, as the other graphic objects.
How to preserve the text editability?
My first guess the text was originally flowed and not a simple one.
You can convert a flowed back to simple by pressing Shift+Alt+W when the text is selected.
Maybe you should just try to save as level 2 eps instead of level 3.
If that still doesn't solve it, than maybe it has something to do with ghostscript? I don't know how to manage incompatibilities and such though.

Have a nice day.
I'm using Inkscape 0.92.2 (5c3e80d, 2017-08-06), 64 bit win8.1
The Inkscape manual has lots of helpful info! http://tavmjong.free.fr/INKSCAPE/MANUAL/html/
