multiple clips (?) please help!

Postby craigmckee » Tue Jan 06, 2015 1:05 pm

Hello! First off, thanks for anyone who is willing to help, I'm going to try to provide as much info as I can as I'm new to this world. I have a jpeg image of myself, and (essentially) I have my hands on my hips, elbows outwards. What I want to to do is clip the background out of the image - which I currently do by drawing a bezier path around me, :tool_pen: then setting a clip - but I also want to remove the background from the triangle formed by my body and inside arm. How can I go about doing this? Nothing I've tried has worked, and I haven't been able to find a tutorial on it either. Any help is appreciated! Thanks!

Hi.

Once you clipped an object, put it inside a group (press Ctrl+G), and then you can clip the group itself.

I would just draw that elbow path, just like the other path. Undo the original clip. Select both the first clipping path and the 2nd one, then Path menu > Combine. Then use that compound path as your clipping path, just like you did the first time.
