Hello again.
Right know I'm making the transition from Paint Shop Pro to Inkscape. The big problem I'm having is the load of vectors I have in PSP format. PSP doesn't export to SVG, or any other format that seems to be good. The only one handled by both apps is Extended Metafile... But this format doesn't support gradients (and some other thing that is destroying my drawings). So my graphics looks awful and I have to retouch everything after importing them in Inskcape.
I've been trying to find some tool to convert from one format to the other, but with no luck.
Does anybody have some info on this? Something to convert from PSPImage to SVG?
Thanks in advance for your help.

Re: Converting PSP vectors to SVG
Can you supply a sample PSP file?
Re: Converting PSP vectors to SVG
have you tried exporting .eps from PSP, then Importing (>File >Importing) the .eps files into Inkscape, requires Ghostscript in Inkscape to import:

Yes, but PSP exports the "merged" image. This is, a raster.

Here is a sample. The EMF file is missing the gradients (as expected) and some of the objects got separated in different objects. You can't see it in the image, but when you start working the colors you find a lot of objects that weren't there in the original image.

Heres is the image in PSPImage format: http://www.mediafire.com/?m265360q4q5wcwy
Thanks to all for the time and help.

.eps is Encapsulated Post Script, not emf, doesn'r PSP export/save in .eps format?

Yes, vwanweb. It "exports" to .eps. But the image is flattened, all layers are put together and a bitmap is created... In other words, it exports a bitmap encapsulated in an .eps file, just like importing a .png inside an .svg file...

... or yet in another words, we say we support a format that we actually don't support.

PS: Sorry for the misleading post, I was answering to hellocatfood.

This is pretty important to me also. I've been using PSP since ~1997, and I've got a smackload of painstakingly created vektors I'd like to make public. PSP's stubborn refusal to play nice with vektor compatibility is frustrating my noble efforts.

Re: Converting PSP vectors to SVG
I see only one sane solution: improve GIMP's PSP importer and export SVG from GIMP.
