Sorry if this question was already asked. I have been having problems when switching from Bezier back to Ellipse tool. After using Bezier and switching back to Ellipse, I keep getting these funny shapes. I have tried everything. The only thing that works is shutting down my comp and rebooting. This is hardly practical. What am I doing wrong?

Can you show us a screenshot of the problem? I'm not sure if seeing an SVG file would help in this case, especially if this problem is unique to your system. But we may ask for one later. Is it the same shape every time it happens? What kind of object is it that becomes deformed? Or is the funny shape not an object on the canvas? The screenshot will help, but if you can describe the funny shape in as much detail as possible, especially how it behaves, it will be even more helpful. Does the funny shape just sit there, can you move it, select it, if selectable, what does status bar say? What is your Inkscape version and operating system? Thanks
