Object Clip > Set Multiple Holes

Postby ruedorb » Wed Dec 12, 2018 3:54 am

Hello gang,

When i use Inkscape to punch out raster files i use the clip and set function in Object. This works fine, until i use the same technique with multiple holes.

For example, using this method: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TUj8_1LYJ9I

But adding a second bezier curve for a second punched hole, it simply punches 1 of 2 holes, what am i missing here?

As you can see below, I have 3 bezier curves, combined to make a single path, but the clip>release function only works for 1 of the two holes, whats going on?

I would just be guessing. I would double check that all the paths are combined. Maybe double check that the paths are all closed (although it might work ok if they weren't closed.

Can you share the SVG file, with the imported image and clipping path?

The sub-path that does not clip may need to be reversed before combining.

Have a nice day.

I'm using Inkscape 0.92.2 (5c3e80d, 2017-08-06), 64 bit win8.1

The Inkscape manual has lots of helpful info! http://tavmjong.free.fr/INKSCAPE/MANUAL/html/
