I"m attaching a picture so hopefully this makes sense.
I've never worked with a vector program before so bear with me.
I have a simple logo that I imported froma png. That worked fine. I'm attempting to use the newly created svg with sparkol.com which accepts .svg images. No problem that works.
What happens is this. As you can see by the attached screenshot the image was traced with an outline. I understand from the faq ( the question about drawing a T shape ) that what I think I need to do is break this apart. WHat I want it is for it to just be a single line path not the outline. Hopefully that makes sense.
Can someone point me to the smart way to do to this. I tried path to stroke but I don't think that was correct.
Thank you
Bruce

Re: Break apart outline path to single stroke.
Hello:
I believe that what you want is a recurrent petition: Convert the traced bitmap in a single line.
I see 3 options:
1.- I have knowledege of a sotware that can convert a traced bitmap to single lines: Win Topo (seach in google). But the results may not be the expected
2.- As I said it's a recurrent theme in the forum, So do a search with trace, single line, convert, etc. A little help:
http://www.inkscapeforum.com/viewtopic.php?f=5&t=11836&p=43761&hilit=trace+single+line#p43761
3.- Do the trace by hand, which i think, given the "simplicity"of the drawing may be the more easy and quick way. You can import your raster image in inkscape. Put in a layer, and then begin to draw paths in other layers. It has been explained in better form in other topics. Again, please, search in this forum or in google. I think there are even video tutorials.
Sorry for my english. I hope have helped.
