Saving and editing
Saving and editing
I cannot seem to save inkscape and re-open it for editing. Regardless of what types of file I save it as, I cannot seem to continue with my unfinished work when I re-open the saved file. I tried saving it in .svg and other types. It doesn't display the inkscape icon but an internet explore (ie) icon. Please help!!! I cannot keep redoing the same thing over and over again. Thank you everyone.
Re: Saving and editing

Welcome to InskcapeForum!
Let's gather a little more info. What are the steps to reproduce this problem? You open an existing SVG with Inkscape. Then what happens? Can you edit, but not save changes? Or can you not edit at all? Or can you not open the exising image at all?
What is your Inkscape version and operating system?

Re: Saving and editing
I am using Windows 7 and Inkscape 0.48. I created some logos for my company but wasn't quite finished so I saved it as a .svg file. When I reopened what I saved, it does not allow me to continue with where I left off. It just displays as an image. Also, it does not save as an inkscape icon but an internet explorer icon. I have tried saving in different for file types but it does not help. Please help...
Re: Saving and editing
Could we please see the SVG file? You could upload wherever you prefer and provide us a link, or attach to your next reply. This way, we can look at the file for any abnormalities.
It might matter where you're saving it. I can't explain it, because I don't understand it. I only know that I've had trouble in the past with saving images in other folders besides My Pictures. I don't know if saving it in the wrong folder can change the content, but that's what I'm thinking, that the content might no longer be vector.
Or it could have somehow become corrupt?? But we can help more if we can see the file
