Making from 2 paths 1 path

Postby LadyoftheCave » Wed Feb 04, 2009 6:17 am

Hi,

I am wondering what the best way is to combine paths,

I want to make an symetrical image. I have made a path of half of the image, then I have copied the path and I have flipped it over. To make one path out of these two halve paths I have chosen for the ctr ++ command. But then a line appears in the middle of the figure :? , how can I prevent this?

Doing a path union will create a closed path. The extra line down the middle is closing the path by join an up lower node to a upper node. A combine (under the paths menu also) will made one path with out joining nodes. If you need a closed path to fill you can join nodes using the :tool_node: and the join end node option. Check out heathenx's tutorial on boolean operations: http://screencasters.heathenx.org/tag/union/

I worked when I first combined the both paths, and then used the join end nodes button,
