Issue with an object behind one?

Postby WolverinesLPs » Sat Dec 13, 2014 1:33 am

I am having an issue, I have a flower and I want the middle design (It is transparent) to be a different color, so I am trying to make a square, move it behind the flower and hoping that it fills in the transparent parts, which it does. But the issue is, the square makes the parts of the flower that aren't transparent a darker color.

How do I fix this?

Seems the other elements have some transparency. You might check them in the status bar or fill-stroke panel.

Can you upload the svg file?
Have a nice day.

I'm using Inkscape 0.92.2 (5c3e80d, 2017-08-06), 64 bit win8.1

Well, quick question; how do I upload SVG? I use Imgur, but it can't upload SVG files, so I tried using dropbox, but still have no clue how to upload them..
So, may you explain it please? I'm new here. Haha (:

SVG files can be attached to a post: "upload attachment" tool below the reply textarea.

Add a file to dropbox using the Upload icon in the Files directory.
Linking to a dropbox file is also done by clicking the "share" button in the dropbox file manager copying the link and pasting into the forum post.

Examples:

Not sure why but it won't show the layers of the flower...

Seems you have a bitmap embedded in an SVG file.

Whilst Inkscape can import and embed bitmap (raster) images as objects, most drawing and compositing is done in Inkscape using vector objects.

You might want to trace or recreate the elements in the picture using the vector drawing tools and proceed with all the advantages vector art provides.

Oh wow, thank you so much! I think I did that when I was first playing around with Inkscape. Thanks so much!
