we're loving the latest DEV build of inkscape and have a thought/suggestion for the tweak objects tool.
Could it be set to not thin below a certain pixel threshold? That way the line might get thinner but not less than 2 so it doesn't disappear altogether.
The other tool which would be most useful would be an average tool to iron out the kinks in lines after thickening and thinning it. I saw a small app a while ago that had an iron icon which, when rubbed along a stroke, smoothed it out.
Just some thoughts.

As an 'unofficial' forum this isn't the best place to request features for Inkscape. The best place is to post of the developers mailing list if you want to ensure you're heard.
Having a pixel threshold sounds like a very good idea though. There is a simplify option that works the same as your suggested iron tool with the exception that it is applied to the entire path.
