I've been searching for a means to produce proper Devanāgarī script, with the <a consonantal conjuncts/ligatures, in Inkscape 0.46 for Mac OS X, but have been unable to do so. I have the text, which displays properly in my text editor (TextEdit) with the Devanagari MT font which comes with the Mac, but when I paste it into Inkscape text, in the same font, Inscape breaks apart the conjuncts into the separate characters. Web searches and searches of this forum haven't turned up any information on using Devanāgarī or other Indic scripts in Inkscape, particularly with regards to re-ordering and conjuncts. Any ideas or suggestions on how to accomplish this would be appreciated.
