the tex text extension *seems* to be the one people use to get latex into their inkscape projects.
I was unsuccessful installing it, any clues towards getting it working appreciated. Here's what I did so far:
check: Verified running inkscape 0.46. (linux). Yes.
check: download tex text tar.gz file, latest one, untar and stick the (only) two files it contains into /usr/share/inkscape/extensions. Yes.
check: start inkscape and expect to see tex text appear in Tools|Text along with the other text extensions. No.
check look at another text extension, and see whether tex text isn't missing anything. Yes. It is missing something in the xml .inx file. Edit tex text .inx file.
check file permissions. Yes the ssmae as the other text extensions.
Still no joy. It's not coming up.
Any other ideas? Cheers.
tex text extension not coming up
Re: tex text extension not coming up
Thought I'd check back after a few weeks .... zero comments. How depressing. And my problem continues.
Looks as if I'm going to have to into the details and sort it out myself, seems a waste when all I want is one diagram. Oh well, off I go.
It's probably not hard .. I just have to look in the right place.
OK, so where is the right place? Ooops that's what makes it hard.

Yes, I'm cogniscent of the fact that I am not posting solution.

I'm sorry nobody was able to help you. Obviously we have very few Inkscape users here who are familiar with Latex. Most Latex users come to this forum, post a question and never come back. It would be nice if they hung around and helped each other out--shared their knowledge for the benefit of the next Latex user...
