Have you checked here?

- Check your version of python
- Run inkscape in terminal, and check the messages that appear
I prefer to use JessyInk, which also have the translation/rotation/scaling effects than sozi. I'd like to use Sozi, but I'm on Win7, and its installation for my OS doesn't seem easy to me.
