How to change the stroke style between two or more nodes - ie part of a stroke in dashes and part with full line?

You can't do that in SVG, but you can 'break path at selected nodes' (node tool's tool bar, 4th button) and then do Path -> Break apart to split your path into separate objects which can then all have a different stroke style.
Something doesn't work? - Keeping an eye on the status bar can save you a lot of time!
