Missing objects when saving

PLEASE HELP...I am new to Inkscape really great program simple and user friendly I am using version 0.48.2 r9819 when I try to save-as I am missing text or pictures what am I doing wrong? please help THANK-YOU...

We'll need to gather more info, before we can figure out what the problem is. When you use Save As, what format do you choose? It's possible, especially with text, that the conversion process from SVG to whatever format it is, can't handle certain objects. Text is notorious for this, with Inkscape. If the problem is text, try converting text to path before Save As (Path menu > Object to Path). If the problem is something besides text, we'll need to know more about the object, as well as the aforementioned file format or extension that you're choosing.
