I have been working on a project and have a number of .svg files I created in Inkscape. I had been opening and editing these files with no issue, but now when I pull them up in Inkscape all of the elements of the files that were in a certain font are gone - not just what font it was, there is just nothing there.
Some of these files I had made .pdf versions of, and when I use Adobe Reader to open the pdfs it looks exactly as it should, but when I pull them up in Inkscape they end up even worse than the .svg versions. Many of the parts of the file are just plain missing, and all the font data is gone. The files look just fine in the preview when you load it though. The fonts that I had been using are still working just fine in all other situations.
I did move these files to a different folder, and I initially thought that might have something to do with the problem, but some of them got left behind in the old folder, and have the exact same issues. Other than that I can't think of what I could've done. I just went back to work on them after a few days break and everything was wonky.
Thank you in advance for any help, I have like 20 pages of something here, and I really don't want to have to start from scratch.
.svg files missing information
Re: .svg files missing information
Hi.
There are nothing wrong with your SVG files!
This problem are due to a Microsoft update affecting all Type-1 fonts.
(Just check Word etc - same font problem in those files.)
See other threads about font problems. viewtopic.php?f=5&t=13204
To uninstall the update, in Win7 - Start - Control Panel - Programs and Features - View Installed Updates - Double Click on the line containing "KB-2753842"
Disable the automatic update until Microsoft has come up with a fix.

Oh, Thank you so much!
Did that and everything works perfectly now, such a relief.
