Looking for some help if possible. When I am typing text and hit enter for the next line my screen zooms way out and my (blinking text line) is VERY LARGE. On other occasions the text bar drops down way below my original screen settings. I have no idea how or when this started happening but I can not seem to fix it. I tried looking for fixes but I can't seem to find anything out there. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I think this could be an issue with the line-height.
Try resetting your Inkscape preferences (if there's nothing overly important in them). Close all Inkscape windows, then rename the file that was indicated at Edit > Preferences > System > User preferences. E.g. name the file preferences.xml.bak. Then reopen Inkscape and try typing again.

Line-height problems happened when people updated from Inkscape 0.91 to 0.92.

I tried going in and changing it but it wont let me. I uninstalled and installed the new version and it's still doing it. Not sure my options at this point except to deal with it. Thanks for the help.

In that case, just move or delete the file. You do not need administrator permissions to edit it. Reinstalling does not help in this case. You must remove or rename the preferences file (if that is the reason).

Open Inkscape.
Look at Edit > Preferences > System > User preferences.
Then open your Windows explorer and navigate to the folder that is indicated there.
