Hi. I have an svg with combined vector and bitmap parts. The bitmap parts are from high-resolution imported png files.
I'd like to save the image as a PDF, but the file size is too large because of the imported bitmaps.
Is there a way to reduce the resolution of the imported bitmaps before I save the file as a PDF?

Hhhm...I know you can set the resolution of an export in File menu > Export bitmap. But I don't know if exporting a PNG will work (PNG to PNG converesion)? It might be worth a try....while waiting for someone who knows more about it than I do, to reply

Re: Reducing the resolution of imported bitmaps
Yeah, I ended up doing something similar.
I just changed the resolution of the linked images using external software (Preview on mac OS).
I was hesitant to do this at first because I thought it would resize the images and I'd have to rescale and move things in the svg. However, changing the resolution in Preview appears to leave the size of linked images unchanged in Inkscape. That's nice.
