Explode rectangle

Postby TSPCO » Sat Dec 15, 2012 12:30 pm

I am trying to make a name badge for a group, here is my problem the badge is made up of three parts, a "header" a "body" and a "footer". The header and footer are made up of the curved corner rectangle top an bottom, and a simple line, separating them from the body. I need to fill the header and footer with a color and leave the body unfilled for future operations. I can fill the whole thing but not the parts, make sense? If anybody has an idea please share, thanks

Hi

Like this: ??

If yes; Create the box with rounded corners, create another box on top, (duplicate this box if it's to be filled with color different than background), do object to path for both, select both paths and do a path difference.

Result will be as shown.
