Hello and Happy New Year!
I'm trying to create a simple postcard for my tax business. I'm having issues with the text - specifically the drop shadows. I followed the tutorial listed here: http://tavmjong.free.fr/INKSCAPE/MANUAL/html/Filters-Example-DropShadow.html: Everything looks fine in inkscape, however, when I export it to pdf and view it in adobe reader, the letters seem to have a nasty looking border around them. If I zoom in on the pdf to 400%, the letters look fine, but when I look at it at say 150%, they look horrible. I'd like to know if there's an additional step I need to do in inkscape before I export it to pdf, or if the letters will look fine once it prints. I tried attaching the files, but they are too large. The svg link is http://www.filedropper.com/taxfrontside_1. The pdf link is http://www.filedropper.com/taxfrontside.
Thanks!
Luis
Help with text drop shadow.
Re: Help with text drop shadow.
Hello,
I tried to open your pdf in another system (Linux) with another viewer (evince). At first the text appeared aliased like zig-zag lines. But after a few seconds, that effect disapears, and the image looks smooth. So I think it's more a issue related with the viewer. If you are on windows try another viewer like Foxit REader to see if the issue appears.
Now about the printing... It's hard for me to help there. But please be aware that the svg format is used for webpages and/or computer illustrations. One big obstacle is the management of color (from RGB to CMYK), with in simple terms means that the colors that we see on the computer screen, won't be the same, when printed on paper.
There has been a lot of discussion about that in this forum. Do a search about printing sVG or PDF files, to get more.

Thank you! I'll do some research on printing.
